Greetings my darling inmates!
I have been working on lots of stuff for Monster Con lately. Mostly vendor things, but I have made a couple of new pieces.
I am hoping to meet the Killer Clowns from San Antonio, so I thought I would do a couple of evil clowns to add to the collection.
I am also planning to contact a local hamburger place in San Antonio, called Monster Burgers, to see if I can display some of my artwork in their place. Hopefully it will generate some sales for me.
I have really been interested in the old-time freak shows lately, and made a piece for that as well:
I love how the colors in the background worked out.
Finally, I have an adorable picture of three ladies that will just cast a spell over you:
That's all for today folks. I need to get back to work making the world a bit more creepy. Keep it spooky until next time!
Welcome to another glorious day at the asylum!
I promised a view into my studio the other day and I lost track of my mind (happens often), so here are a couple of pictures I took of some of my workspace:
I have another easel, and a work table but they are really messy right now and though I love chaos, it doesn't make for pretty pictures, so those will have to wait.
In other news, I got my bat tattoo done yesterday. I love him! He is really cute.
He does have a couple of boo-boos, but my regular tattoo artist can fix them.
Today I am working on frames for a couple of canvasses and making a swamp witch canvas. I will post pics when it's done. I have a few more things to do before I am completely ready for Monster-Con, but I am well on my way! I am so excited! I am also getting to meet the Killer Clowns from San Antonio, which is awesome! It's going to be a fantastic time!
Gotta get back to the grindstone. Keep it creepy!
Greetings and Salutations fellow inmates!
Today I am going into San Antonio to participate in a fundraiser for San Antonio Pets Alive! Saving animals from euthanasia is a cause near and dear to my heart. I believe every animal deserves love and a forever home. For this fundraiser, SAPA has teamed with a local tattoo parlor, Ink and Iron Tattoos and for every $50 small animal tattoo done until this Sunday, half the proceeds go to SAPA. So, I am getting a cute little bat done on my wrist. Here is a picture of the bat:
Isn't he just the cutest little guy? The banner behind him won't be part of the tattoo. I couldn't get it out of the picture. He will blend right in with all my other tats and will be a cute addition to the sleeve I am having done on my left arm. Normally I don't do cutesy tattoos, but I just couldn't resist. I love bats. His place will be under the haunted house and jack o lantern once they are done. I'm thinking something like this, minus the wording:
Anyway, I am getting ready to go, so..
Keep it spooky!
Good Morning fellow spooky people! Today I am sharing some of my newest pieces that I will be selling at Monster-Con. If you don't know what that is, it is a mini horror themed convention in San Antonio, TX at The Wonderland of the Americas mall. It runs on Sept.28-29 this year. Onward into the pics!
Come play with us!
So, do you?
Here's Chucky!
As you can see, I did these really simply. I try not to get the pictures all muddled up in most of my pieces. Earlier works were pretty chaotic and took a lot of time for placement and all. Not that there's anything wrong with them, I just wanted a few to be more character-focused. These will be selling for $15.00 each.
Here is a collage I did of Frankenstein and the Bride:
This one brings a lot of elements from the film into play. I love the way it turned out.
It will be selling for $20.00.
Tomorrow I will share more pieces and give a look into my studio. Until then, stay spooky, my dears!
Welcome friends and fellow asylum patients
I'm Raven. your hostess and resident artist in lunacy. I love all things weird, creepy, and macabre and hope you enjoy your little side trip into my world.
Today I am going to share with you one of my favorite quotes:
This is something I live by when creating. Now, I know some of you might be a little concerned that my art is going to go all nasty and gory and the like, but I can assure you, this is not the case. I do have standards, you know :) I will not put vulgarity or unnecessary nudity or things that make my art unsuitable for kids. I do more creepy and disturbing, for the most part. I love Halloween and especially the old horror films from the 30's and such, so there will be a lot of black and white with just a touch or two of color thrown in. I also do modern horror, but try to keep the nastiness to a minimum. I hope you like my work, and please feel free to leave me a comment.
