Over the Past Few Days

The past few days were full of drama. I am getting tired of drama and can't wait until things calm down here and the drama goes away.
Jess and Logan broke up on Tuesday because she felt neglected and he was tired of getting yelled at. Neither one of them needs a relationship right now, but they aren't listening.
My MIL, FIL, and Ian got moved over to their house yesterday and now we are going to clean and set up the office in the room Mavis and Glenn were in. I am going to love having space to myself.
I hate houseflies. There are too many of them in the house at the moment because people are constantly going in and out and letting them in. The kitchen is over-run and it makes me itchy.
Friday is the day we are losing the 4 cats. Ian is taking his 2 and Heather and Sean are getting their 2. I am going to miss the kitties, but it will be a lot cheaper on the cat food bill.
I still have an ear infection or something making it hard to hear out of my left ear. I am going on 2 weeks now. This is not fun.
Logan started his new job this morning. He is working at a cement fabrication company in Converse. I had to have him at work at 6:45 but I am not sure what time he gets out. I hope he keeps this. He needs a job.
Marshall still hasn't heard about his disability. I hope they decide soon. It is driving him nuts not knowing.
I am getting ready to tear down the garden. It has been so hot here that watering is going to be too expensive for me to continue. I can get the basil plants into planters and keep the mint, but the rest is going to have to come down. I still have no peppers and very few tomatoes, so they are a waste of time, I think.

Moving the Storage Unit

We got the news today that we are going to have to move everything out of the storage unit that belonged to my mom. That means having to sell a bunch of the stuff because no one has enough room to keep it. I called the woman that did the appraisals on the unit after Mom died and she said she might be able to get some things into a sale she is having after Labor Day. I want to go through the rest of the boxes and put more stuff up for sale. Most of the crystal will be sold as will most of the porcelain and other knicknacks. Heather will be taking some of the crystal, as will I, and I will take most of the furniture except the dining room set. I am hoping to get this done within the next two months or less.
My MIL and FIL and Ian will be moving out this week and into their new house down the block. They are taking two cats and Bear the puppy. Heather is supposed to come get her cats Riven and Smoke on Friday, so then we will be down to just 3 cats and 2 dogs. I think that is the least amount of animals we have had in years.

Way too Hot

I am really ready for summer to be over. It is HOT and I am miserable. I can't go outside and enjoy myself without worrying about heatstroke and getting burnt.
My new diet has caused me to gain weight, so I am going back to the old one. I have to go back to the gym. I haven't been in over a month with everything going on around here and being sick and all, and it shows. So tomorrow I am getting up and going.
At the end of the summer I am going to have to tear down my garden and put what I can into pots. Marshall is re-doing the entire area for me and he is also putting in a new gate. He works so  hard to make me happy. I have an awesome hubby :)

Will Wonders Never Cease?

Two posts in two days.. wow! I am on a roll!
I went to the gym this morning after waking up to the rainy, drizzly nastiness that was outside. I really had to force myself out of the bed, but having promised Bree we would go, I made myself. Nothing like an accountability buddy to get you on your feet and moving. I can say I am glad I went, now that it is all said and done. I got in some jogging on the treadmill and with the biking I did this morning on my little stationary bike in my bedroom, I did a total of 4.5-ish miles today. YAY ME!  I even inspired Bree to jog some too :) She's like me, hates exercise, but knows she needs it so we go and put ourselves at the mercy of the gym gods and pray they will like us and help us lose weight. Tomorrow will tell if I messed up my right knee again. I just love arthritis. NOT!
As to the house, well, it is going. The pups tore up all the carpeting Marshall put down last week on the back porch, so that has to come back up. Naughty pups. We did get Bryan's room done, now to put everything back. The kitchen is still a wreck, but we will be working in there today and hopefully get it finished in the next day or so. We did finish the shelving in the dining room and got all the books and stuff put back and all that is left in there is to get my Grandma's table and the new chairs put in. We have to go to storage when it is not raining for that though.
Bryan's school is still going well. We are working on algebra, a little geometry, cells in science, folk tales and Kipling for his reading and for history we have our family in Texas. My mother's family used to own the majority of Medina County here, and learning about them and the family is a lot of fun, at least for me. Yesterday we went to a local museum, The Witte, to see the dinosaur exhibit and to also see the south Texas exhibits. I was hoping there was something there about our family, but there wasn't. I guess I need to get some stuff and have it put in there, if possible. I know the Institute of Texan Cultures has some stuff from my dad's family on display and that will probably be the next field trip we take when Bryan is done with my mom's side.
Well, that's about it for now. Time to get going on getting more stuff done in the house. Have a great day folks :)

Back to the Gym

Yesterday I finally went back to the gym after being out of it since March 19th. The good news is that I only gained 2 pounds back. The bad news is that I wasn't able to do the full 3 miles because I have lost some endurance. It has also been a month since I quit smoking! I am turning into one of those non-smokers I used to hate though. Every bit of smoke smell that Marshall gets on him bugs me, his nicotine breath bugs me, the smell of the ashtrays outside bugs me--seems I am really sensitive right now. I have also developed a real problem with eating garlic. I get nauseous and it repeats for 24 hours and makes me miserable, so no more garlic for me. It has been an interesting month so far. I can't wait to see what else the future holds.

It has been really hectic around here for the past couple of months. Marshall was gone to NC for 6 weeks and just got back last Wednesday. His mom had surgery to remove a tumor from her stomach.
Bryan is being homeschooled again. We decided that the school we had him in had changed too much since they changed campuses and he was not getting the education he needed. This is the first time I have taught middle school, so we are both learning.
The painting continues. This week should be the end of it all. Then I can finally get my gas stove in place.
I have been going to the gym since the end of January and have lost over 30 pounds. The past few days have been bad for me and I haven't had the motivation to go though, so tomorrow I have to get back on track no matter how I am feeling. I can't afford to let all the hard work go to waste.
Well, that's about it for now. Hopefully I can get more posts in soon.

Ok, so I am a couple of days late, but Happy New Year's!  This year has started off with a lot of changes in our house. The first, of course, is all the painting and building that has been going on, but we are almost done with that. The second is a major change in how we eat and what we drink. Marshall and I are starting on a new water: Kangen water. It is alkaline and antioxidant. It was brought to our attention by a friend, Gracie. She is a distributor for Enagic, a Japanese company that makes the systems that produce the machines that make the water. There is a lot of information out there that proves alkaline water is good for you, but if you want more info, here is the Enagic website: https://www.enagic.com/.
We are also getting ready to quit smoking. Marshall has been trying one of the electronic cigs, but I think going cold-turkey is going to be better for me. Lucky for me, the water will detox me and maybe the withdrawals won't be that bad.
The kids got moved into their apartment and all seems to be going well for them. My oldest daughter Jess has a new home too with her boyfriend Nick. He's former military and seems like a good guy.
Well, I guess that's about it for now. I have to go paint kitchen cabinets.
